The teaching of social emotional learning (SEL) skills is supported by a solid research base and strong support from educators. SEL advances educational equity and excellence through authentic school-family community partnerships to establish learning environments and experiences that feature trusting and collaborative relationships, rigorous and meaningful curriculum and instruction, and ongoing evaluation. SEL can help address various forms of inequity and empower young people and adults to co-create thriving schools and contribute to safe, healthy, and just communities. SEL helps young people and adults thrive personally and academically, develop, and maintain positive relationships, become lifelong learners, and contribute to a more caring, just world.
EMC strives to increase student engagement to promote higher literacy rates, accelerate learning, ensure workforce readiness & improve student’s overall well-being.
EMC will create schools that are welcoming places where all students can succeed regardless of background or socioeconomic level. We envision educators, parents, and students working together to advocate for the well-being of the whole child. Through our collaborative, evidence-based approach, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), we will provide resources for students to acquire skills to become successful in and out of the classroom. By fostering deeper connections among students, educators, and the community, the EMC Education Fund will lead the way in creating a supportive, engaging, and dynamic web of connections within each school.
